Two Sun Belt Student-Athletes on Rimington Watch List

NEW ORLEANS - The Rimington Trophy Committee announced its 2018 Fall Watch List, which includes two centers from the Sun Belt Conference - Georgia Southern’s Curtis Rainey; Troy’s Deontae Crumitie

Rainey played in all 12 games last year, starting nine at center and was an honorable mention All-Sun Belt selection. He was on the field for a total of 857 snaps and played a season-high 89 snaps against Arkansas State.

Crumitie was a 2017 All-Sun Belt Second Team selection after starting all 13 games at center to run his career total 32 career starts.  He allowed just one sack in more than 700 snaps last season and led an offensive line that that finished 12th nationally in fewest sacks allowed and rated sixth in offensive line efficiency. He recorded a grade of 85 percent or higher in 12-of-13 games and 90 percent or higher in seven games, including five of the final six games of the season

In order to create this list, the committee accepted nominations from programs across the country that submitted their current starting centers for consideration. This preseason, centers were nominated from every conference, with 58 total nominees and 27 past watch listers.
