BOONE, N.C.  - Appalachian State University men's soccer improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2008 with a 2-1 victory over VMI (0-3) on Saturday evening in the home opener at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex.

App State has outscored its opponents, 7-3, in the first three contests of the season while it improves to an impressive 37-2-1 against the Keydets after the triumph.

Georgia State 2, Lipscomb 1 (ot)
ATLANTA – Frank Rosenwald netted the game-winning goal in the second minute of overtime to lead Georgia State men’s soccer to its first victory of the season over Lipscomb Saturday night at the GSU Soccer Complex.

Coastal Carolina 1, UAB 0

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – An early goal in the 13th minute held up for Coastal Carolina as the Chants defeated host Alabama-Birmingham in the final match of the UAB Soccer for a Cure Classic. Tsiki Ntsabeleng got free in the box and blasted an unassisted goal past the UAB goalkeeper which turned out to be the only goal of the match and another match-winner this season for the first-year Chant.

Appalachian State 3, Belmont 0

BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University men's soccer continued the hot start to the 2018 season with a 3-0 shutout over Belmont (0-2) on Sunday evening at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex. The Mountaineers improve to 4-0 to the season and are just one win away from matching last season's win total. App has not won its first four games of the season since 2008, while it is 3-0-1 against Belmont.
