Troy 3, Jacksonville State 2

TROY, Ala.
– Troy volleyball bounced back from a morning loss to Florida A&M to defeat rival Jacksonville State in the five-set finale of the Troy Classic at Trojan Arena Saturday. The Trojans (5-7) split the two matches to finish in a tie for second place in their final non-conference tournament of the season. Freshman Lacey Jeffcoat was Troy's representative on the all-tournament team.

Little Rock 3, Villanova 1
NEW ORLEANS
– Little Rock closed out the non-conference portion of its 2018 schedule in style, defeating Big East foe Villanova 25-23, 22-25, 25-19, 25-16 at the AllState Sugar Bowl Volleyball Classic, hosted by Tulane. The win improves Little Rock's overall record to 8-5, one win shy of matching its 2017 win total. It matches the Trojans' best start to the non-conference season since winning eight matches in 2013, as Little Rock improves to 3-2 all-time against current members of the Big East.

– Maddie Bryant led Georgia Southern with a match-high 12 kills as the Eagles defeated Savannah State 3-0 Saturday to win the GATA Challenge in Hanner Fieldhouse.

No. 15 Purdue 3, South Alabama 2
TUSCALOOSA, Ala.
– The University of South Alabama volleyball team fell to No. 15 Purdue in five sets (26-24, 13-25, 25-23, 14-25, 7-15) Saturday in the Crimson-White Tournament at Foster Auditorium. USA (6-7) jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the match before Purdue (11-0) avoided its first loss of the season by winning the fourth and fifth sets. ?

SAN DIEGO
– Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball completed play in the SDSU/USD Challenge by splitting a pair of matches on Saturday, the latter a five-set victory over San Diego State which clinched a winning non-conference mark. The Ragin' Cajuns (8-6), who rallied from an 18-16 deficit in the third set to remain ahead of the Aztecs in the match, scored the first three points of the decisive fifth frame, hit .438 and never trailed in completing the 3-2 (25-20, 21-25, 25-22, 22-25, 15-7) triumph.

JONESBORO, Ark.
– The Arkansas State volleyball squad got a balanced offensive attack as the Red Wolves concluded the 2018 A-State Invitational with a perfect 3-0 record with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-22) victory over Jackson State on Saturday afternoon at First National Bank Arena.?

– Sending the winning streak to six matches in a row, UTA claimed a straight-set win over Belmont on Saturday at College Park Center, putting itself in position to claim the Maverick Invitational title in the tournament finale.

– The Texas State volleyball team earned a 3-1 (25-17, 25-21, 16-25, 25-17) victory over Northern Arizona in Saturday's first match at the 2018 Sparky Classic Presented by DoubleTree by Hilton Phoenix Tempe.

– The UTA volleyball team (6-4) had its six-match winning streak snapped in the finale of the Maverick Invitational Saturday night at College Park Center as Sam Houston State (8-4) picked up a 3-0 victory in the Mavs' final non-conference game of the year.

TEMPE, Ariz.
– The Texas State volleyball team swept Arizona State 3-0 (25-22, 28-26, 25-17) Saturday night to win the 2018 Sparky Classic Presented by DoubleTree by Hilton Phoenix Tempe. The Bobcats (9-5) dropped just one set all weekend to earn their second tournament championship of the non-conference season (Creeds & Crests Classic). This marks the first time since 1998 that the maroon and gold has captured two tournaments in the same year. The loss snapped a 15-match non-conference home winning streak for the Sun Devils (9-3) that dated back to 2014.
