– Tookie Brown tallied 19 points and five assists, and Georgia Southern shot 61 percent from the floor to earn a 90-82 Sun Belt men's basketball win over Troy Thursday night in Trojan Arena. Already Georgia Southern's Division I career scoring leader, Brown surpassed 2,000 career points with a 3-pointer from the top of the key 1:46 into the contest. The senior made his first five shots, including a pair of 3-pointers, and scored 11 of the Eagles' first 22 points of the contest.

Texas State 80, Little Rock 62

– Tre'Larenz Nottingham and Nijal Pearson combined for 43 points to lead the Texas State men's basketball team to an 80-62 victory over Little Rock in a Sun Belt Conference game at Strahan Arena on Thursday night.

UTA 68, Arkansas State 59

– The UTA men's basketball team (7-11, 3-2 Sun Belt Conference) received a game-high 25 points from Edric Dennis, and the Mavericks knocked off Arkansas State (8-10, 2-3 Sun Belt) Thursday night inside the College Park Center, 68-59, to extend their season-best winning streak to three.

Georgia State 69, South Alabama 66
MOBILE, Ala.
– Georgia State survived a last-second 3-pointer to top South Alabama 69-66 on Thursday night at the Mitchell Center. D’Marcus Simonds led the Panthers with 18 points while three others just missed double-doubles. Georgia State (14-4, 5-0 Sun Belt) won for the seventh straight time and third-straight on the road in league play. The Panthers have won 18-straight games in the month of January dating back to 2017.
