TROY, Ala. – A three-run home run from Sadler Goodwin and a two-run shot from Dalton Sinquefield were all the offense Troy needed as it defeated Southeastern Louisiana, 5-2, in the series opener Friday night at Riddle-Pace Field. The two teams will wrap up the series with a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. Saturday due to the high possibility of rain on Sunday.

Pensacola, Fla. - A pair of two-out home runs, one in the third inning and another in the eighth, pushed Tennessee past ULM on Friday at the Cox Diamond Invitational at Blue Wahoos Stadium. The Volunteers (10-0) struck first in the bottom of the first inning. Justin Ammons was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, and moved around to third on an error by pitcher Jacob Barton on a pickoff attempt. Jay Charleston singled to right to bring home Ammons for the 1-0 lead. Evan Russell hit a sacrifice fly later in the inning to score Charleston for the 2-0 advantage.

ATLANTA -- Georgia State fell 13-2 to Samford in the opener of a three-game series at the GSU Baseball Complex.

STATESBORO - Georgia Southern got a career-high 11 strikeouts from Seth Shuman on Friday night, but it wasn't enough for the Eagles, who dropped the opener to No. 9 Georgia, 3-1. Shuman worked seven innings of five hit ball, but fell to 0-3 on the season. The Eagles and Bulldogs will close the series with a day-night doubleheader on Saturday. Game one starts at 1 p.m., while game two starts at 7:30 p.m.

LAFAYETTE – Four Maryland runs in the middle innings, including a three-spot in the top of the fifth, was the deciding factor in Friday's series opener as Louisiana fell to the Terrapins, 4-2, at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
