LAFAYETTE, La. — Another comeback in Cajun Country, this one to clinch a Sun Belt Conference road series win. With Appalachian State trailing Louisiana by one run entering the ninth inning, Luke Drumheller delivered a two-run single to give the Mountaineers the lead, and Kaleb Bowman capped a 6-5 win by striking out the Ragin' Cajuns' fifth-place hitter with runners at the corners.
Georgia Southern 15, Little Rock 10
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern got five runs in the eighth inning to break open a 10-10 deadlock and defeat Little Rock 15-10 and take the weekend series. Mason McWhorter went 3-for-6 to drive in five and lead the Eagles at the plate. Georgia Southern visits Mercer on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. on ESPN+ and the Georgia Southern Sports Network.
Texas State 13, ULM 1
SAN MARCOS, Texas – Senior first baseman Ryan Newman blasted a grand slam with two outs in the seventh inning for the Texas State baseball team (15-9, 4-2 Sun Belt) to run-rule ULM (7-16, 0-6 Sun Belt) 13-1 Sunday afternoon at Bobcat Ballpark. The victory also gave the Bobcats a series sweep over the Warhawks, the first Sun Belt Conference sweep at home since Appalachian State last season.
Arkansas State 8, South Alabama 1
JONESBORO, Ark. (3/24/19) – The Arkansas State baseball team earned its sixth series win of the season topping South Alabama 8-1, Sunday afternoon at Tomlinson stadium. With the win, A-State improved to 16-8 overall and 5-1 in the Sun Belt Conference while South Alabama fell to 12-10 overall and 3-3 in the league.
Troy 10, No. 16 Coastal Carolina 8
CONWAY, S.C. – A six-run third inning jumpstarted Troy to a 10-8 victory over No. 16 Coastal Carolina in the getaway game at Springs Brooks Stadium Sunday afternoon. The Trojans (11-13, 1-5) finally got that elusive first conference win thanks in part to a two-run homer from Drew Frederic and a grand slam from freshman Logan Cerny, both in the big third inning.
