— A sharp outing from Will Sprinkle, coupled with a middle-inning rally by Appalachian State's offense, gave the Mountaineers a 3-2 win in their series-opening home game against ULM on Friday. Based on weather forecasts for the weekend, a Saturday doubleheader has been scheduled with a start time of 10 a.m.

– Senior Chase Smartt and sophomore Rigsby Mosley combined for six RBI in Troy's 10-6 win over Georgia State in Sun Belt Conference baseball action on Friday night at the GSU Baseball Complex. The Trojans (18-16, 6-7 Sun Belt) have won five of their last seven Sun Belt games while the Panthers (10-24, 2-11 Sun Belt) dropped their 10th consecutive conference game.

LITTLE ROCK
- The Trojans won both games of today's doubleheader over No. 24 Coastal Carolina, taking the first game 8-4 before grabbing a convincing 14-0 win in game two, using a dominant pitching performance from Hayden Arnold and a 4-for-5 day at the plate from Riley Pittman. Little Rock has now won nine of their last 10 contests while winning three consecutive conference series. The Trojans have now won three straight games against nationally ranked opponents.

South Alabama 9, Louisiana 2
LAFAYETTE, La. – Right-hander JoJo Booker turned in a quality start while the Jaguar offense posted six extra-base hits, including a pair of home runs, in the University of South Alabama baseball team's 9-2 win over Louisiana in Friday's series opener at Russo Park. Booker (4-3) allowed two runs on four hits with four strikeouts and three walks in six innings pitched to earn his fourth win of the season. Ethan Wilson finished a double shy of hitting for the cycle, and went 3-for-5 with a triple, one home run, two RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Jaguar attack at the plate.

UT Arlington 4, Arkansas State 3
JONESBORO, Ark. - Andrew Miller reached base in all four of his plate-appearances as UTA beat Arkansas State, 4-3, in game one of the series at Tomlinson Stadium. Miller finished the game 3-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a team-leading 26th RBI. Cade Winquest (5-1) got the win after holding the Red Wolves to three runs on six hits and a walk through five innings. He struck out seven batters.

Georgia Southern 12, Texas State 0
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern Baseball downed Texas State 12-0 on Friday evening at the friendly confines. A four run first put the Eagles up early, but it was seven innings of two-hit, shutout ball that shut the door on the Bobcats in the series opener. Game two between the Eagles and Bobcats is set for Saturday at 3 p.m.
