METAIRIE, La.
– In need of a big moment late in Tuesday's contest against No. 14 Louisiana State, it was seniors Orynn Veillon and Handsome Monica who answered the call for Louisiana with back-to-back home runs in the eighth inning to clinch a thrilling 6-5 victory at the 16th-annual Wally Pontiff Jr. Classic.

Arkansas State 8, SEMO 4 (Raffo Wins No. 300 at A-State)

Arkansas State baseball head coach Tommy Raffo earned his 300th career win as the Red Wolves picked up an 8-4 victory Tuesday evening over Southeast Missouri State. With the win, A-State improved to 22-16 overall while Southeast Missouri State fell to 16-21.

Georgia Southern 7, Charleston Southern 4
STATESBORO
- Jason Swan's first home run of the season, a three-run bomb to left, handed Georgia Southern Baseball a 7-4 win over Charleston Southern on Tuesday night. The sophomore came off the bench to bash the go-ahead big fly. Georgia Southern travels to Coastal Carolina for a weekend series beginning on Thursday night.

Georgia State 5, Savannah State 1

-- Making his first career start, fifth-year senior Will White pitched five scoreless innings to earn his first career victory and lead Georgia State to a 5-1 victory over Savannah State Tuesday at the GSU Baseball Complex.

Little Rock 4, Central Arkansas 2
LITTLE ROCK
- Riley Pittman's fifth-inning three-run home run lifted the Trojans over in-state rival Central Arkansas by the score 4-2, Tuesday night at Gary Hogan Field.

Texas State 17, Houston Baptist 8
SAN MARCOS, Texas
– The Texas State baseball team (24-13) set single-game highs of hits, home runs and runs in a 17-8 victory over Houston Baptist Tuesday evening at Bobcat Ballpark. The Bobcats finished the game with 21 hits, most since Mar. 5, 2016 against Incarnate Word, and four home runs, the most since also hitting four against UTSA on Apr. 5, 2016.

UTA 6, No. 19 TCU 3
ARLINGTON, Texas
– Andrew Gross set the UTA single-season record for saves as he helped UTA beat no. 19 TCU for the first time in three tries this season in a 6-3 Mavs home win Tuesday night at Clay Gould Ballpark. Trailing by three runs, the Horned Frogs loaded the bases with two outs, but Gross forced a ground out to notch his 15th save of the season. Gross' 15 saves topped the old UTA program record for saves in a season of 14 (Jason Watkins, 1992).

South Alabama 4, Southern Miss 1
MOBILE, Ala.
– Right-hander Drake Nightengale recorded career highs in strikeouts and innings pitched to lead the University of South Alabama baseball team to a 4-1 win over Southern Miss Tuesday at Stanky Field. Nightengale (3-2) struck out a career-high 14 batters in a career-best seven scoreless innings pitched, and allowed three hits while issuing a pair of walks, to earn record his third win of the season.
