Georgia Southern 9, Coastal Carolina 2

- Georgia Southern Baseball put Coastal Carolina to the sword on Thursday, downing the Chanticleers 9-2 to open the Easter Weekend series. The win was Georgia Southern's third-straight at Springs Brooks Stadium and extended Coastal's skid to four-straight, their longest since 2014. The Eagles and Chanticleers are back in action on Friday for game two of the series.

Troy 8, Appalachian State 2
TROY, Alabama
– Levi Thomas tossed eight stellar innings as Troy earned an 8-2 win in the Sun Belt series opener against Appalachian State at Riddle-Pace Field on Thursday.

Thomas (4-2) struck out six batters allowing two runs on four hits to earn the victory. The sophomore didn't allow a hit until the fourth inning, didn't allow a runner to advance past first in seven of his eight innings, and retired the side in five frames.

Texas State 16, Arkansas State 14
SAN MARCOS, Texas
– Coming off a 21-hit game on Tuesday, the bats stayed hot for the Texas State baseball team (25-13, 10-6 Sun Belt) as it outslugged Arkansas State (22-17, 8-8 Sun Belt) 16-14 Thursday night at Bobcat Ballpark.

Both Jaylen Hubbard and Jaxon Williams recorded three hits apiece while Travon Benton and Dalton Shuffield had two each. As a team, the Bobcats drew 13 walks with two free passes being issued to Will Hollis, Skyler Valentine, Benton and Williams.

UT Arlington 9, Louisiana 8
ARLINGTON, Texas
– UTA erased a four-run eighth inning deficit that was capped by a Zac Cook walk-off that gave the Mavs a 9-8 win Thursday.

After Louisiana took an 8-4 lead, UTA (26-13, 12-4) loaded the bases in the bottom of the eighth and scored three runs to cut the deficit to one run.
