Conway, S.C. – Coastal Carolina baseball split Saturday's Sun Belt Conference doubleheader with the Georgia Southern Eagles, taking game one by a score of 9-7 and dropping game two 13-12, as the Chants' comeback bid fell short in the nightcap at Springs Brooks Stadium.
With the split, the Chants move to 24-16-1 overall, 9-8 in Sun Belt play and 5-5 in doubleheaders this season.

MONROE, La.- Riley Pittman's three-homer day sparked Little Rock as they swept the Saturday afternoon doubleheader at ULM to notch their fourth consecutive Sun Belt Conference series victory. The Trojans picked up a 7-3 win in the first game before taking the second half of the twin bill 4-2.
South Alabama 10, Georgia State 7
MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama rallied for four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat Georgia State 10-7 and secure a three-game series sweep in Sunday's series finale at Stanky Field.
USA (19-20, 8-10 Sun Belt) faced a 7-6 deficit after 7 ½ innings, but plated four runs in the bottom of the eighth on a two-run single by Reid Powers and two-run double by Kaleb DeLaTorre to earn its fourth consecutive win.
Texas State 7, Arkansas State 6 (10)
SAN MARCOS, Texas – Senior first baseman Ryan Newman sent a three-run blast over the right field fence to give the Texas State baseball team (27-13, 12-6 Sun Belt) a 7-6 walk-off victory in 10 innings Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Ballpark to complete the sweep of Arkansas State (22-19, 8-10 Sun Belt).
Appalachian State 9, Troy 7
TROY, Ala. — Appalachian State built a lead in support of Brandon Boone, and Andrew Papp shut down a comeback attempt before the Mountaineers added some needed insurance in a clutch road win.
App State closed its Sun Belt Conference series at Troy with a 9-7 victory on Saturday afternoon. The Mountaineers improved to 8-9 in league play and 16-21 overall heading into a Tuesday home game against Radford.
UT Arlington 9, Louisiana 5
ARLINGTON, Texas – UTA secured a series sweep and its ninth consecutive win with a 9-5 win over Louisiana on Saturday afternoon at Clay Gould Ballpark.
David Moffat (4-2) almost went the distance for the Mavs (28-13, 14-4 SBC), going eight innings in the win. He struck out two batters and only gave up four hits. The Ragin' Cajuns (20-23, 8-10) only scored in one of Moffat's innings.
Georgia Southern 13, Coastal Carolina 12
CONWAY, S.C. - Georgia Southern Baseball split a Saturday doubleheader with Coastal Carolina, dropping the opener 9-7 before taking a nail-biting 13-12 win in the finale. Mason McWhorter went 4-for-5 in the finale, just a triple shy of the cycle. He drove in six runs for the day with two in the first game and four in game two. Georgia Southern will play five games in Statesboro this week, beginning with The Citadel on Tuesday.
