— A comeback win and complete-game shutout gave Appalachian State Baseball a doubleheader sweep of first-place UTA on Saturday at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium.

Kendall McGowan erased a seventh-inning deficit with a two-run homer to help lift App State to a 9-7 win in Game 1, which began with the Mavericks establishing a 6-1 lead, and left-handed freshman Tyler Tuthill posted a career-high eight strikeouts while allowing just four hits with no walks during a 6-0 victory in Game 2. Facing only four batters above the minimum, he struck out the side in the eighth before completing his 94-pitch outing with a groundout.

Texas State 3, Louisiana 2
LAFAYETTE, La.
– Sophomore right-hander Hunter McMahon threw his second complete game of the season as the Texas State baseball team (30-13, 14-6 Sun Belt) defeated Louisiana 3-2 Saturday afternoon at Russo Park. McMahon struck out a season-high 11 and did not walk a batter as the Bobcats won their ninth straight game.

Coastal Carolina 6, Georgia State 5 (10)
Atlanta, Ga.
– The relentless Chanticleers scored a run in each of the eighth, ninth and 10th innings with substitute Morgan Hyde delivering a bases-loaded RBI single in the extra frame to propel Coastal Carolina to a 6-5 extra-inning win over the Georgia State Panthers in Sun Belt Conference play at the GSU Baseball Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Troy 11, Little Rock 5
Little Rock, Ark.
– Troy led wire-to-wire and evened the weekend series against Little Rock with an 11-5 win in Sun Belt Conference baseball action at Gary Hogan Field on Saturday evening.

Both teams mustered up 11 hits but five of the Trojans' (22-21, 10-10 Sun Belt) hits were for extra bases and Troy's defense forced Little Rock (20-22. 12-7 Sun Belt) to leave 10 runners on base.

Arkansas State 4, ULM 3 (12)
Jonesboro, Ark. (4/27/19
)– A walk-off single by Kyle MacDonald lifted the Arkansas State baseball team to an extra inning 4-3 win over ULM Saturday evening at Tomlinson Stadium.

Following the win, A-State improved to 23-20 overall and 9-11 in the Sun Belt while ULM fell to 18-24 overall and 7-12 in the league.

Georgia Southern 16, South Alabama 12 (Rodney Hennon's 700th win at GS)
STATESBORO
- Georgia Southern Baseball delivered Head Coach Rodney Hennon's 700th win with the Eagles by defeating South Alabama 16-13 on Saturday. The win gives the Eagles a series win over the Jaguars. Mason McWhorter had two home runs and seven RBIs to lead the Eagles to the win. Sunday's series finale is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN+ and the Georgia Southern Sports Network.
