FOLEY, Ala. – The UT Arlington volleyball team defeated No. 5 seed (East Division) Georgia Southern 3-1 (25-15, 22-25, 25-20, 25-17) on Thursday night in Pool Play (B) of the Sun Belt Tournament at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex.
With the win, UTA moves to 11-6 overall on the season, while the Eagles are eliminated from the SBC Tournament and fall to 5-11 on the year.
Brianna Ford led the Maverick attack with 13 kills on the night. She also added 10 digs in the win. Brooke Townsend added nine kills and a pair of blocks. Briana Brown and Simara Peyton chipped in with eight kills each, while Alli Wells registered 15 digs and seven assists. Kylee Kapp racked up 15 assists, while Mollie Blank turned in a 20-20 double-double with 20 assists and 20 digs. Michaela Wright finished with a match-high six blocks to go with her five kills.
