NEW ORLEANS –  The Sun Belt Conference announced its Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Tiyah Johnson, Troy
(#14, Sr, G, Phenix City, Ala.)

Tiyah Johnson had an amazing week scoring a Sun Belt best 30-points against LaGrange and followed it up with a 19 point performance a day later against Chattanooga. The senior from Phenix City, Ala. was very efficient taking 25 shots in two games, shooting 64% from the field (16-for-25) and 63 percent from 3-point range (5-for-8) including a perfect 4-for-4 against LaGrange. She shot 86 percent (12-for-14) from the free throw line for the week. Johnson became the first Trojan since 2016 to score at least 30 points in a game. She also hauled in a career-high 9 boards against LaGrange adding 5 assists, 5 steals and a blocked shot.

This season, the 12 Sun Belt women's basketball programs will be split into an East Division and a West Division to minimize travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Teams will play each other on back to back days (Fridays and Saturdays) at the same location. Conference openers are set for New Year's Day 2021.

All 12 teams will compete in the Sun Belt Conference Championship which will be held March 5-8, 2021 in Pensacola, FL.
