James Madison's Centeio, Troy's Steward & Georgia Southern's Raynor Earn Sun Belt Weekly Awards

NEW ORLEANS – James Madison’s Todd Centeio, Troy’s Reddy Steward and Georgia Southern’s Alex Raynor earn Sun Belt football weekly awards following significant contributions to team wins on the final weekend of the regular season. 

Football Offensive Player of the Week
Todd Centeio, James Madison
(Gr., QB – West Palm Beach, Fla.)   

Dukes graduate student quarterback Todd Centeio led James Madison to a 47-7 win over No. 23/23 Coastal Carolina to cap an 8-3 year in its inaugural season in the Sun Belt and the FBS. The West Palm Beach, Fla., native accounted for five touchdowns in the win. Centeio completed 17-of-32 passes for 287 yards and four touchdowns, while adding 25 yards and a score in the ground game. The quarterback led the Dukes to 44 unanswered points in the statement win, en route to his fourth Sun Belt Football Offensive Player of the Week nod of the season. 
 
Football Defensive Player of the Week
Reddy Steward, Troy
(Jr., DB – Decatur, Ala.)   

Trojans junior defensive back Reddy Steward picked off a pair of passes to help lift Troy to a 48-19 win over Arkansas State. The victory clinched the Sun Belt West Division title for the Trojans and secured hosting rights for the Sun Belt Football Championship. The Decatur, Ala., product return his first interception 67 yards for a touchdown to stretch Troy’s fourth quarter lead and iced the game with his second pick with 4:25 to play. Steward also registered two tackles and a pass breakup in the end zone in a complete defensive effort. 
 
Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Alex Raynor, Georgia Southern
(RS Jr., K – Kennesaw, Ga.)    

Eagles redshirt junior kicker Alex Raynor made all of his kicks—six extra points and a 35-yard field goal—in a 51-48 double overtime win over App State. The victory secured bowl eligibility for Georgia Southern for the fourth time in five seasons. The Kennesaw, Ga., native accounted for nine points and also had a three-yard rush on a fake field goal that led to an Eagles touchdown in the third quarter. Raynor is 16-for-18 on field goal attempts and 48-for-49 on extra points this season and is tied for the Sun Belt lead with 96 points scored.
