Monarchs Advance to Second Consecutive Sun Belt Tournament Semifinals on Late Game-Winner

FOLEY, Ala. – Ashlynn Kulha provided the game-winner in the 84th minute to lift No. 2 seed Old Dominion to its second consecutive Sun Belt Conference Tournament Semifinal appearance as they defeated No. 7 seed Georgia State.
 
The Monarchs (11-2-5) advance to the semifinal match on, November 3 at 4 p.m. CST at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Ala. They will face the winner of No. 3 seed Georgia Southern. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
 
Georgia State (9-5-6) was limited to one shot during the match as Second Team All-Conference keeper Jaddah Foos provided three saves in the match.
 
The Monarchs managed two shots in the first half but responded with six in the second 45 minutes. Old Dominion snaps a streak of six consecutive semifinal appearances for Georgia State.
 
The late goal for the Monarchs came from a corner kick that was taken by Anna Torslov. Kulha’s run on the back post proved fruitful for her third goal of the season as Old Dominion, who won the tournament in its first year in the league, advanced to the semifinals.
