NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern’s Terren Ward continued her momentum from last season, opening the 2023-24 campaign with back-to-back double-doubles to lead the Eagles to a pair of victories. She’s the Sun Belt Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Ward opened the 2023-24 campaign with back-to-back double-doubles, filling up the stat sheet as Georgia Southern opened 2-0 for a third straight season. The Jesup, Ga., native, had 20 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and three steals in Saturday's 82-58 MAC-SBC Challenge win over Eastern Michigan, her 20th career double-double. Earlier that week, Ward registered 21 points, 11 rebounds, three blocked shots, two assists and two steals in a 103-49 win over Allen (SC). With the back-to-back standout performances, Ward moved into 15th place on the Georgia Southern all-time rebounding chart.
