NEW ORLEANS – James Madison redshirt junior swingman Terrence Edwards Jr. has been tabbed Sun Belt Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season after leading the 20th-ranked Dukes to a pair of non-conference wins.
A 2023-24 Preseason All-Sun Belt First Team selection, Edwards averaged 22.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent (14-of-28) from the floor. He also received the league’s weekly honor Nov. 14 following the season’s first week of action before garnering a plethora of national accolades for his performance.
Edwards scored 16 points in the Dukes’ 87-48 home win over Coppin State on Dec. 19. He then matched a career-high 29 points while making a season-high 10 field goals and led all players with nine rebounds in an 89-75 road win road win at Morgan State on Dec. 22. The Atlanta native also eclipsed 1,000 career points in the effort.
