NEW ORLEANS – Marshall’s Marco Silva and UCF’s Zane Bubb have earned Sun Belt Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honors after directing their respective squads to successful weekends on the pitch.
Offensive Player of the Week
Marco Silva, Marshall

Marshall’s Marco Silva put together a standout week for the Herd. The sophomore tallied his first career goal, assist, and completed a hat trick in the first half of a 5-0 victory over Wright State. Silva tallied goals in the 19th, 27th and 36th minutes with his assist coming on a Matthew Bell goal 35 seconds after his first goal of the contest for seven points in the match. Silva's hat trick marked one in back-to-back games by the Herd with Bell tallying one in the season opener. Marshall is the only team in the country with two hat tricks this season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Zane Bubb, UCF

UCF’s Zane Bubb played in 82 minutes of the Knights’ 3-1 second-half comeback victory over NC State on Friday, aiding in a UCF defense that yielded only one goal for the third straight match, as well as only seven total shots and two shots on goal. The defender from Jacksonville, Fla. also completed 67 of 74 total passes, 91 percent, throughout the evening.
