Sun Belt Alumni Dot Every Playoff Roster, Georgia Southern Products Star in NFL Wild Card Round

NEW ORLEANS – Sun Belt alumni dotted all 12 teams that competed on NFL Super Wild Card Weekend—and all 14 playoff rosters following the 2023-24 National Football League (NFL) season.  
 
Georgia Southern alumni kicker Tyler Bass and defensive back Kindle Vildor carded key performances to help their respective teams advance to the Divisional Round. Bass scored seven points for the Buffalo Bills—on a 45-yard field goal and four extra points. Vildor tallied four tackles and a tackle for loss, while playing every defensive snap for the Detroit Lions. 
 
Punter Sam Martin out of App State also contributed to the Bills victory with three punts for 144 yards, including a pair inside the 20-yard line. 
 
Three Sun Belt alumni offensive linemen—Aaron Stinnie of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers via James Madison, Kevin Dotson of the Los Angeles Rams via Louisiana and Robert Hunt of the Miami Dolphins via Louisiana—played every offensive snap on NFL Super Wild Card Weekend. 
 
Southern Miss alumnus wide receiver Quez Watkins made three catches for 12 yards for the Philadelphia Eagles. 
 
Linebacker Nick Hampton of the Los Angeles Rams via App State and wide receiver Jalen Tolbert of the Dallas Cowboys via South Alabama earned their first career postseason snaps. 
 
Offensive lineman Kendall Lamm (App State, Miami Dolphins), cornerback Chandon Sullivan (Georgia State, Pittsburgh Steelers), linebacker Neville Hewitt (Marshall, Houston Texans) and long snapper Rick Lovato (Old Dominion, Philadelphia Eagles) also saw postseason action. 

Eighty-seven Sun Belt alumni earned NFL roster spots entering the 2023 season, with 33 advancing to the NFL playoffs. 
 
Four earned byes to the Divisional Round as members of the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers. Fourteen additional Sun Belt alumni helped propel their teams to Wild Card Round wins, giving the conference 18 representatives in next weekend’s Divisional Round.
