NEW ORLEANS – After helping lead Marshall to a pair of wins last week to continue its 5-0 start in Sun Belt play, junior guard Aislynn Hayes has been named the Sun Belt Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Aislynn Hayes put together a pair of 20+ point performances to lead Marshall to another unbeaten week of Sun Belt action. Hayes started her week off netting 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting on the road at Georgia State. The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native, continued her momentum on Saturday at Coastal Carolina, draining a season-high six three pointers enroute to a team-best 23 points. Hayes is averaging 13.8 points in the Herd’s historic 5-0 start to conference play.
