NEW ORLEANS – After helping their teams maintain their respective division leads heading into the final week of the regular season, Marshall’s Braylon Braxton, Louisiana’s Keyon Martin and Louisiana’s Robert Williams claimed the Sun Belt football weekly honors. 
 
Football Offensive Player of the Week
Braylon Braxton, Marshall 
(RS Jr., QB – Frisco, Texas)
 
Thundering Herd redshirt junior quarterback Braylon Braxton accounted for 350 total yards and three touchdowns in Marshall’s 42-35 win over Old Dominion to maintain its perch atop the Sun Belt East Division. The Frisco, Texas, native completed 13-of-24 passes for 210 yards and three scores and rushed for 140 yards on 18 attempts. Braxton led the Thundering Herd on three-straight go-ahead drives in the second-half, including the game-winning 11-play, 75-yard march. His 140 rushing yards were the sixth-most by a Marshall quarterback in a single game in program history. 
 
Football Defensive Player of the Week
Keyon Martin, Louisiana

Ragin’ Cajuns senior defensive back Keyon Martin picked off a pair of second-quarter passes in Louisiana’s 51-30 win over Troy—his first appearance since a scary injury at Texas State on Oct. 29. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., product’s interceptions led directly to a pair of touchdowns for the Ragin’ Cajuns in a 27-point stanza that blew the game open. The 27-point second quarter came in the midst of a 30-point scoring run for Louisiana, turning a 14-7 deficit into a 37-14 advantage. Martin also added four tackles and two pass breakups, as Louisiana maintained its position atop the Sun Belt West Division. 
 
Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Robert Williams, Louisiana

Ragin’ Cajuns redshirt junior return specialist Robert Williams delivered a momentum-shifting 96-yard kickoff return touchdown in Louisiana’s 51-30 win over Troy to remain atop the Sun Belt West Division standings. The Humble, Texas, native’s return came after the Trojans had narrowed the lead to a single possession in the fourth quarter. Williams returned four kickoffs for 180 yards on the day—the most kickoff return yards by a Sun Belt player this season. His 96-yard kickoff return was also the longest by a Sun Belt student-athlete in 2024.
