NEW ORLEANS — Behind career days from redshirt sophomore quarterback Bishop Davenport and redshirt senior wide receiver Jeremiah Webb, South Alabama outpaced Western Michigan, 30-23, in the IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl.

The Jaguars—who were part of the Sun Belt’s non-autonomy leading bowl contingent for the third-straight season—improved to 2-3 in five all-time bowl appearances after securing back-to-back bowl wins for the first time in program history.

Davenport completed 15-of-24 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns, while accumulating 85 yards and a score on 11 carries in the ground game. Webb amassed 200 all-purpose yards, with an IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl record 182 receiving yards and two touchdowns on six receptions from Davenport.

South Alabama junior running back Kentrel Bullock posted his fourth 100-yard rushing performance of the season, with a team-high 130 rushing yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.

Redshirt senior defensive back Jaden Voisin and redshirt sophomore linebacker Blayne Myrick co-led the Jaguar defensive unit with nine tackles and a tackle for loss each.

In a one-possession game with 1:11 to play, South Alabama redshirt senior wide receiver Devin Voisin recovered an onside kick attempt to secure the Jaguars win. Voisin also had three receptions for 42 yards on offense.

With the win, South Alabama improves to 7-6 on the season.
