NEW ORLEANS –South Alabama graduate guard Samuel Tabe secured Sun Belt Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors following an impressive scoring outburst in a 1-1 week for the Jaguars.
 
Tabe averaged 28 points and six rebounds while shooting 19-for-31 (.613) from the field and 18-for-21 (.857) at the free throw line in South Alabama’s final two road games of the season.
 
A Beltsville, Md., native, Tabe scored 29 points on 10-for-14 shooting from the field with five rebounds and an assist in the Jaguars’ 83-64 victory over Southern Miss on Feb. 22. Two days later, he poured in 27 points on 9-for-17 shooting to complement a team-leading seven rebounds at Arkansas State.
 
Tabe is the first South Alabama player to earn the Sun Belt’s top weekly honor since Isaiah Moore on November 29, 2022.
