Troy's Kilcrease, Marshall's Trotter & Troy's McAteer Reap Sun Belt Football Weekly Accolades

NEW ORLEANS – Troy’s Tucker Kilcrease, Marshall’s Boogie Trotter and Troy’s Paddy McAteer reap Sun Belt football weekly accolades following contributions to divisional victories in conference play.

Football Offensive Player of the Week
Tucker Kilcrease, Troy
(Jr., QB – Brantley, Ala.)

Trojans junior quarterback Tucker Kilcrease completed 30-of-39 passes for 415 yards and five touchdowns in a come-from-behind 48-41 victory over Texas State in overtime. The Brantley, Ala., native’s five touchdown passes are tied for the second-most in Trojans program history, while his 415 passing yards were the seventh-most in a single game for Troy. Kilcrease led Troy back from a 21-0 first quarter deficit en route to its second-straight overtime win. The comeback is the second of 17-or-more points engineered by Kilcrease this season.

Football Defensive Player of the Week
Boogie Trotter, Marshall
(Sr., DB – Nashville, Tenn.)

Thundering Herd senior defensive back Boogie Trotter’s 22-yard pick six opened the Marshall scoring in a 48-24 win over Old Dominion. The Nashville, Tenn., native later forced and recovered a fumble that led directly to another Marshall touchdown. Led by Trotter, Marshall’s defensive unit carded three takeaways and recorded two goal-line stands in the dominant victory. With his first quarter pick six, Trotter is now tied for third in the nation with four interceptions on the season.

Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Paddy McAteer, Troy
(Jr., K - Mullaghbawn, Ireland)

Trojans junior kicker Paddy McAteer booted a program-record 53-yard field goal in the closing seconds of the first half to spark a 13-point Troy run in an eventual 48-41 win over Texas Sate in overtime. Following Troy’s seven-play, 75-yard scoring drive to open the second half, McAteer executed a perfect onside kick with a ball that caromed off a Texas State player and back into the hands of a Trojan. The onside kick recovery following the kick from the Mullaghbawn, Ireland, product, led to another Troy field goal to cut the Texas State lead to four.
