NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference announced the bracket for the league’s 2025 Women’s Soccer Championship on Wednesday evening.
The tournament will be contested November 3-8 at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Ala., marking the 10th-consecutive year the women’s soccer championship will be conducted at the site. Each of the tournament’s seven matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.
South Alabama earned the tournament’s No. 1 overall seed as champion of the West Division in a tiebreaker over ULM after both teams accumulated 14 points against divisional opponents. The Jaguars won the West for the fourth consecutive season and head to Foley hunting their first Sun Belt tournament title since 2021. They will take on No. 8 seed Louisiana in the first round.
Old Dominion secured the tournament’s No. 2 overall seed as the leader of the East Division with 21 conference points and 12 division points. The Monarchs won the Sun Belt Championship in back-to-back seasons in their first two seasons in the conference in 2022 and 2023 and reached the semifinals last season. They will face No. 7 seed Georgia State in the first round.
ULM won its first Sun Belt regular season title in program history after leading the conference standings with 22 points in league play as the only team with an unbeaten record at 6-0-4. The Warhawks will take on No. 6 seed Marshall in the first round.
Texas State earned the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 seed James Madison in the first round which will be a rematch of the tournament’s 2024 title match when the Dukes outlasted the Bobcats, 3-2, with a go-ahead goal in the 89th minute.
