Sun Belt Men's Soccer Reaches Regular Season Finale

NEW ORLEANS - With Kentucky locked in as the No. 1 Seed, seven other Sun Belt teams look to solidify their spot in the league tournament during Tuesday's regular season finale.

All five matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.

WILDCATS STAKING A CLAIM
After a 1-0 victory over Georgia State on Friday, Kentucky was officially able to claim part of the Sun Belt regular season title with 21 league points. West Virginia still can tie Kentucky and claim co-champions should they win and Kentucky loses on Tuesday, resulting in both teams having 21 points. Kentucky, however, has secured the top seed in the conference tournament being they have the head-to-head victory over West Virginia.

HUNTING FOR A HOST SEED
Marshall or West Virginia can be the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament and host alongside Kentucky. West Virginia upset Marshall 3-0 at home on Friday to pass them in the league standings with 18 pts. With 16 league points Marshall is still in the running to host should they defeat UCF on Tuesday and West Virginia losses to South Carolina.

MAKING A PUSH
With only eight of the leagues 10 teams making it into the league tournament, teams at the bottom of the standings are looking to make a final push to make the cut. Old Dominion (7 pts), Coastal Carolina (6 pts) and South Carolina (5 pts) sit along the cut line. Old Dominion and South Carolina have the toughest test as they face the top two teams in the league in their final matches.

COLD BLOODED CALDEIRA
West Virginia heads into the end of the regular season with the highest ranked offense in the league with a 2.063 scoring average. Forward Marcus Caldeira leads the league in points with 9 goals and 7 assists to total 25 points. The senior also leads the league in game winning goals with five. Teammate Pablo Pozos is fourth in the league in points with 10 goals and one assists to total 21 points.

UCF & THE ASSIST KING
Sitting fifth in the current league standings UCF is guaranteed a spot in the conference tournament. With a 4-2-2 league record and 14 points the Knights could finish as high as the three seed but drop no lower than five. The Knights are led by the nations assist leader Clarence Awoudor who has 13 on the year. Awoudor is second in the league in total points with his 13 assists and five goals totaling 23. Awoudor is helped offensively by Lilian Ricol who has nine goals on the year, tied for second most in the league.
