Sun Belt to Utilize TrackMan During 2025 Baseball Season

NEW ORLEANS – For the third-straight season, the Sun Belt Conference will utilize TrackMan technology for conference baseball games during the 2025 season to assist with umpire training and evaluation.

TrackMan uses patented Optically Enhanced Radar Tracking (OERT) to record and deliver data from tracking systems installed in baseball stadiums. The Trackman stadium system is used by all 14 Sun Belt schools and more than 300 colleges around the country.

The Sun Belt will use data delivered by TrackMan to monitor each pitch of every game for accuracy by Sun Belt umpires and will use the resulting information to train, evaluate and improve performance.

“As one of the nation’s premier baseball leagues, the Sun Belt is committed to investing in technology to improve the game,” said Sun Belt Conference Commissioner Keith Gill. “This began with the adoption of instant replay in both baseball and softball for the 2023 season and continues with this innovative partnership with TrackMan to provide critical evaluation data.”

TrackMan is used by all 30 Major League Baseball teams, top amateur organizations, prominent collegiate summer leagues and is embedded in more than 500 stadiums around the world.

“TrackMan is excited to enter into a long-term agreement with the Sun Belt Conference to provide in-game data to help train and educate umpires. Trackman & the Sun Belt continue to make strides every year to improve the game experience for the student-athletes, coaches and fans,” said TrackMan Senior Manager James Snikeris. “The TrackMan stadium technology will be used by all SBC baseball programs, which further exemplifies the commitment each program has made to the player development of their student-athletes.”

The technology will be used for all conference baseball games during the 2025 campaign.
