Two Sun Belt Programs—Coastal Carolina & Southern Miss—to Host NCAA Baseball Regionals for First Time in Conference History

NEW ORLEANS, La. — For the 30th time in 36 seasons since 1989—and the fourth-straight campaign—the Sun Belt will be represented by multiple teams in NCAA Baseball Regionals from May 30-June 2. For the first time in conference history, the Sun Belt will host two NCAA Baseball Regionals—the Conway Regional at Coastal Carolina’s Springs Brooks Stadium and the Hattiesburg Regional at Southern Miss’ Pete Taylor Park.

The Sun Belt is 1-of-4 conferences with multiple regional hosts this year, joining the SEC (8), ACC (3) and Big Ten (2). The Sun Belt’s two NCAA Baseball Regional representatives trail only the SEC (13), ACC (9), Big 12 (8) and Big Ten (4).

Sun Belt regular-season and tournament champion and No. 13 national seed Coastal Carolina (48-11) will host an NCAA Baseball Regional for the sixth time at Springs Brooks Stadium (2007, 2008, 2010, 2018, 2023 & 2025). The Chanticleers will commence their 21st all-time NCAA appearance—and their sixth over the past seven events—against MAAC regular-season runner-up and tournament champion Fairfield (39-17) at 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT on Friday, May 30, on ESPN+. Florida (38-20) and American tournament champion East Carolina (33-25) will also compete in the Conway Regional in Conway, S.C.

Sun Belt regular-season and tournament runner-up and No. 16 national seed Southern Miss (44-14) will host an NCAA Baseball Regional for the fourth time at Pete Taylor Park (2003, 2017, 2022 & 2025). The Golden Eagles, who are making their 21st all-time NCAA appearance and ninth-straight, will take on Ivy League tournament champion Columbia (29-17) in their regional opener at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT on Friday, May 30, on ESPN+. Alabama (41-16) and Miami (31-24) will also compete in the Hattiesburg Regional in Hattiesburg, Miss.

The winner of each double-elimination regional tournament will compete in NCAA Super Regionals from June 6-9, with the Super Regional victors advancing to the 2025 College World Series in Omaha, Neb., from June 13-23.
