NEW ORLEANS — Coastal Carolina will look to rebound from its first losing season since 2019 when its opens the 2025 campaign on Saturday, August 30, at Virginia. The contest will kick off at 7:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. CT on ACC Network.

The Cavaliers won the lone prior meeting with the Chanticleers, 43-24, in Conway, S.C., in 2024.

Coastal Carolina’s non-conference schedule also includes back-to-back home games against in-state foe Charleston Southern (Sept. 6) and East Carolina (Sept. 13), ahead of a late-season road trip to in-state foe South Carolina (Nov. 22). Alongside annual dates with their East Division brethren, the Chanticleers will travel to South Alabama (Sept. 20) and host ULM (Oct. 11) from the Sun Belt West Division.

The Chanticleers were picked fourth in the Sun Belt East Division, while earning 1-of-14 first-place votes in last month’s 2025 Sun Belt Conference Football Preseason Coaches Poll.

Third-year head coach Tim Beck will guide a roster that returns a pair of All-Sun Belt honorees from 2024 and had three players named to the 2025 Preseason All-Sun Belt teams.

Coastal Carolina went 6-7 in 2024, its first losing season since 2019. The Chanticleers were part of the Sun Belt’s eight-team Bowl Season contingent that paced the non-autonomy conferences for the third-straight year, making their fifth-straight bowl appearance in the process.
