Georgia State's Taylor, Georgia Southern's Nevile Earn Sun Belt Men's Soccer Weekly Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Georgia State’s Matt Taylor and Georgia Southern’s Toby Nevile earn Sun Belt men’s soccer offensive and defensive player of the week honors.

Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Matt Taylor, Georgia State

Taylor had a hand in all three of Georgia State's goals last week. In the team's 1-0 victory over UAB, Taylor made the game-winning goal to secure the victory. In the Panthers' conference opener at South Carolina, Taylor had an assist and a goal of his own in the 2-2 draw. His five-point week brought him to a team-best nine on the season, while his four goals rank among the top five in the Sun Belt. 

Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Toby Nevile, Georgia Southern
(Jr. | D | Basingstoke, England)

Nevile played the full 90 minutes in both Eagles victories over the last week. The junior scored his first collegiate goal against Jacksonville to start the week, leading to a win over the Dolphins, 2-1. In the teams Sun Belt opener versus Old Dominion, Nevile helped the Eagle defense hold the Monarchs to just three shots on goal in the 2-1 victory.
