NEW ORLEANS – UCF redshirt forward Drew Hansen claimed Sun Belt Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the third consecutive week, and West Virginia’s junior defender Civan de Jesus Ferreira earned Sun Belt Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week in the final weekly awards of the 2026 season.
Sun Belt Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Drew Hansen, UCF
(Redshirt Junior | Forward | Cleveland, North Carolina)
Hansen claims his record-setting third consecutive Offensive Player of the Week honor. The Cleveland, North Carolina, native tallied three goals on the week with two assists for a total of eight points in UCF’s two wins over Georgia State and Georgia Southern.
He posted back-to-back games with a brace in UCF’s 5-1 win over Georgia State on Oct. 29, marking his fourth match this season with multiple goals. In the regular season finale against Georgia Southern, he scored the game-winner that secured the No. 3 seed in the Sun Belt Championship.
Hansen was responsible for both game-winners this week and now owns 12 goals on the season ahead of the 2026 postseason. He led the conference in points and goals last week and shared the lead in assists.
Sun Belt Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Civan de Jesus Ferreira, West Virginia
(Junior | Defender | Berlin, Germany)
West Virginia’s de Jesus Ferreira never left the pitch last week in the Mountaineers’ two shutout victories over Coastal Carolina (Oct. 29) and James Madison (Nov. 3). From the back line, he manned a West Virginia defense that allowed just five shots on goal across two games.
The Berlin, Germany, native has started in all 16 games this season for West Virginia and helped WVU to 10 shutouts. He has played every minute of the Mountaineers’ last five matches and has not allowed a goal in the last six matches.
