Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Nick Dirito, App State 
(RS Jr., RHP – Plymouth, Mass.)
 
Mountaineers redshirt junior right-handed pitcher Nick Dirito threw a career-high 8.0 scoreless innings in a 10-0 series-opening win over James Madison. The Plymouth, Mass., product struck out a career-best eight, while conceding just two hits and one walk. After allowing a leadoff single in the first inning, Dirito manufactured a double play ball to begin a stretch of 11-straight batters retired. He faced just two over the minimum, while holding opponents to a .080 batting average. 
 
Baseball Player of the Week
Aaron Piasecki, Troy 
(Sr., OF – Muskegon, Mich.)
 
Trojans senior outfielder Aaron Piasecki hit .667 (8-for-15) and slugged 1.133 in a 2-2 week for Troy, including a conference series victory over Louisiana. The Muskegon, Mich., native compiled two triples, a home run, five RBI and eight runs scored. Piasecki reached based on six other occasions via four walks and two hit by pitches, running his on-base percentage to .762 on the week. He plated the game-winning run in the Trojans series-opening win over Louisiana and added a career-high five hits in the series-clincher.
