NEW ORLEANS – Standout efforts for postseason-bound programs lift Louisiana’s Cody Brasch and Southern Miss’ Drey Barrett to final Sun Belt baseball weekly honors. 
 
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Cody Brasch, Louisiana
(Jr., RHP – Haslet, Texas)
 
Ragin’ Cajuns junior right-handed pitcher Cody Brasch hurled 6.0 innings of one-hit baseball in a 7-2 series-opening win over nationally-ranked Coastal Carolina en route to an eventual Louisiana series win. The Haslet, Texas, native struck out seven, did not allow a runner to reach scoring position and combined with two relievers for a three-hitter. Brasch retired the final 11 batters he faced and held opposing hitters to a .053 batting average. 
 
Baseball Player of the Week 
Drey Barrett, Southern Miss
(So., 3B – Holtville, Ala.) 
 
Golden Eagles sophomore third baseman Drey Barrett hit .556 (5-for-9) and slugged 1.333 to lead Southern Miss to a 3-0 week to clinch the program’s first-ever Sun Belt regular-season title. The Holtville, Ala., product registered a double, two home runs, four runs scored and seven RBI on the week. In Southern Miss’ series-opening 14-3 win over Georgia Southern, Barrett went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and four RBI, including a two-run shot.
