NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern senior outfielder Emma Davis and South Alabama junior right-handed pitcher Ryley Harrison earned the Sun Belt Conference’s weekly softball awards following standout performances during the final week of the of the 2026 regular season.
Davis earns her first Sun Belt Player of the Week honor and becomes the second Eagles player this season to be recognized since Kayla Christensen on March 3. Harrison earns her third Pitcher of the Week accolade this season and the fourth of her career as she is now one of two pitchers to receive the honor at least three times in 2026 along with Texas State’s Maddy Azua (four times).
Player of the Week
Emma Davis, Georgia Southern

A two-time All-Sun Belt Second Team honoree, Davis led the Eagles to a series sweep over rival Georgia State by hitting an outstanding 8-for-11 (.727) and slugging 1.455 with two home runs, a pair of doubles, three runs scored and five RBIs while reaching base at a .769 clip. Davis went 3-for-4 with two runs and a double in the 4-1 series-opening win before going 2-for-4 with a solo homer in the 6-4 game two victory. The Grayson, Ga., native closed the weekend with a 3-for-3 performance, adding another home run, one double, two runs, two RBIs and a pair of walks in a 7-2 win.
Pitcher of the Week
Ryley Harrison, South Alabama
[Jr. | RHP | Fairhope, Ala.]
Harrison helped the Jaguars capture its first season series over Louisiana since 2013 with a 1.00 ERA and 2-1 record in the circle with 14 strikeouts. She allowed just two earned runs in her 14 innings of work while holding the Ragin’ Cajuns to a .208 batting average. In the series opener, Harrison tossed a complete-game, two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts on just 83 pitches as South Alabama picked up a 4-0 win to snap a 29-game skid in the series to UL. In game two of Saturday’s doubleheader and series finale, Harrison worked six innings of relief, scattering six hits and one unearned run with five strikeouts.
