NEW ORLEANS — ULM will commence its 2026 season when it visits Mississippi State on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 7:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
The Bulldogs are 4-1-1 all-time against the Warhawks, with ULM’s lone 34-32 victory coming in 1995 in Starkville. The meeting is the first between the two programs since 1997.
ULM’s non-conference slate also includes a trip to UAB (Sept. 12), followed by back-to-back home dates with Southeastern Louisiana (Sept. 19) and Florida Atlantic (Sept. 26). Alongside annual meetings with their West Division foes, the Warhawks will travel to App State (Nov. 21) and host Marshall (Nov. 28) in cross-division clashes.
The Warhawks, who are looking for their first winning season since 2012, were picked to finish seventh in the Sun Belt West Division in last month’s
2026 Sun Belt Conference Football Preseason Coaches Poll.
Third-year head coach Bryant Vincent will lead a roster that
returns two All-Sun Belt selections from 2025 and
had two players named to the 2026 Preseason All-Sun Belt Teams.
ULM went 3-9 in 2025, including a second-straight 3-1 start under Vincent. The Warhawks started 5-1 in 2024—the best start since the program’s 1987 national championship season at the FCS level.
In 36 seasons of FBS football, the Warhawks are 149-269-1—including a 102-195-0 mark in 25 seasons in the Sun Belt.
