Coastal Carolina’s Lawrence & App State’s Harrington Notch Sun Belt Women’s Soccer Player of the Week Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Coastal Carolina first-year midfielder Olivia Lawrence and App State second-year defender Lucy Harrington have received Sun Belt Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors of the 2026 season.
 
Lawrence is the first Chanticleer to be named Offensive Player of the Week since Eleanor Ashton on Oct. 8, 2024, while Harrington is the first Mountaineer to be tabbed Defensive Player of the Week since Kerry Eagleston on Oct. 30, 2023.

Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Olivia Lawrence, Coastal Carolina

Lawrence tallied five points in two matches for the Chants, including two goals and one assist in just 85 minutes of action. At Florida on Aug. 20, Lawrence assisted on her team’s first goal to cut the deficit in half, 2-1, before netting an equalizer with just one minute remaining before halftime. She capped the week with another goal in a 2-0 win against Central Michigan on Aug. 23.

Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Lucy Harrington, App State
(2nd Yr. | D | Mechanicsville, Va.)
 
Harrington led the Mountaineers to an unbeaten week (1-0-1) with three points and two shutouts while playing all 90 minutes in both contests. She assisted on App State’s first score before adding her first collegiate goal 10 minutes later in a 2-0 road win over Gardner-Webb on Aug. 23. The center back also engineered the back line to a scoreless draw against Western Carolina on Aug. 20.
