NEW ORLEANS – South Carolina forward Loïc Sany Kong and Coastal Carolina goalkeeper Will Devine earned the first Sun Belt Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honors of the 2026 season.

Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Loïc Sany Kong, F, South Carolina

Kong tallied a career-high two goals and an assist for a career-high five points against North Florida in the Gamecocks season opener. It was also his first career brace and first multi-point match of his career. Kong registered the game-winning goal while also recording an assist and his second goal of the match within 19 seconds of each other in the 4-1 victory.

Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Will Devine, GK, Coastal Carolina
(3rd Yr. | GK | Council Bluffs, Iowa)
 
Devine started off the year with a clean sheet against No. 2 nationally ranked NC State to preserve the 0-0 tie for the Chanticleers. Devine fended off 19 shots during the match and recorded four saves over the 90 minutes for his first clean sheet of the new season.
