NEW ORLEANS – Following standout performances, Georgia State’s Cameran Brown, Arkansas State’s Robert Stevens III and James Madison’s Michael Scott earned the Sun Belt football weekly accolades.
Football Offensive Player of the Week
Cameran Brown, Georgia State
(5th Yr.., QB – Warner Robins, Ga.)
Panthers fifth-year quarterback Cameran Brown amassed 315 yards of total offense in a 31-17 win over in-state foe Kennesaw State. The Warner Robins, Ga., native completed 16-of-23 passes for 253 yards and rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Brown finished an 18-yard run with a hurdle of an Owl defender to score the first touchdown of the contest in a game in which Georgia State never trailed.
Football Defensive Player of the Week
Robert Stevens III, Arkansas State
(4th Yr., LB – Washington, D.C.)
Red Wolves fourth-year linebacker Robert Stevens III had a hand in two takeaways by the Arkansas State defense in a 52-7 win over West Georgia. The Washington, D.C., product was the first Red Wolves player since 2024 to record a forced fumble and an interception in the same game. Stevens also added six tackles and a tackle for loss. The forced fumble Stevens III caused was recovered and returned 68 yards for an Arkansas State touchdown.
Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Michael Scott, James Madison
(2nd Yr., RS – York, Pa.)
Dukes second-year return specialist Michael Scott accumulated 303 all-purpose yards in James Madison’s record-setting 87-3 victory over Wagner. The York, Pa., native registered a 92-yard kickoff return and added a pair of punt return touchdowns of 76 and 69 yards. Scott’s 303 all-purpose yards are the fourth-most in a single game in James Madison program history and he is the third Duke all-time with two punt return touchdowns in a single game. Scott also got involved on offense, catching three passes for 45 yards.
