NEW ORLEANS – Georgia State third-year midfielder Sunniyah Tucker and Coastal Carolina third-year goalkeeper Aris Lamanna garnered Sun Belt Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors following the fifth week of the 2026 season.
Tucker is the Panthers’ second Offensive Player of the Week selection this season and first since teammate Aaliyah Faddoul on Aug. 18. Lamanna earns the Chanticleers’ first Defensive Player of the Week accolade since former goalkeeper Vivienne Carr accomplished the feat on Sept. 3, 2024.
Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week?
Sunniyah Tucker, Georgia State

Tucker registered seven points on two goals and three assists in a pair of non-conference wins for the Panthers. She scored one goal and added two assists in a 4-1 road win at West Georgia on Sept. 10. Tucker finished the week by playing a role in both Georgia State goals in a 2-0 home win over Gardner-Webb on Sept. 13, scoring the eventual game-winning goal in the 65th minute before assisting on the team’s second tally in the 74th minute.
Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Aris Lamanna, Coastal Carolina
(3rd Yr. | GK | Murrysville, Pa.)
Lamanna recorded two shutouts and made seven saves in an unbeaten week for the Chanticleers. She made one save in a 1-0 home win over College of Charleston on Sept. 10 before adding a six-save shutout in a scoreless draw at UNCW on Sept. 13. Lamanna improved her goals against average to 0.62 and save percentage to .884 on the season, as both marks lead the Sun Belt.
