NEW ORLEANS – Old Dominion fourth-year striker Lewis Rourke and Georgia State fifth-year defender Sandro Rabarivony have earned Sun Belt Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honors following the third week of the 2026 season.
A 2026 Preseason All-Sun Belt Team honoree, Rourke is the Monarchs’ first Offensive Player of the Week honoree since Otu Bisong on Oct. 14, 2025, while Rabarivony is the Panthers’ first Defensive Player of the Week selection since Gunther Rankenburg on Oct. 7, 2020.
Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Lewis Rourke, Old Dominion
(4th Yr. | F | Nottingham, England)
Rourke compiled six points with two goals and as many assists in a pair of non-conference home wins for Old Dominion. Rourke got the week started with a four-point performance in a 7-1 win over Radford on Sept. 2 before adding a goal in a 3-0 victory over Bucknell on Sept. 6.
Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Sandro Rabarivony, Georgia State
(5th Yr. | D | Saint-Pierre, Réunion Island)
Rabarivony played a vital two-way role in Georgia State’s 2-0 week, helping the Panthers stay undefeated in 2026 with a pair of road wins. Rabarivony was instrumental in the team’s second-half turn against Lipscomb on Sept. 2, scoring twice within a five-minute span. His first tally in the 76th minute tied the match 2-2 before his second strike in the 81st minute extended Georgia State’s advantage to 4-2. Rabarivony played 70 minutes and recorded an assist on the Panthers’ first goal and led the back line to a 3-0 shutout victory over Presbyterian on Sept. 6.
