Delanie Authement joined the Sun Belt Conference as Assistant Commissioner of Championships in August 2025, bringing nearly a decade of experience in student-athlete support services, athletics administration, and event operations.
Before joining the Sun Belt, Authement served as Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development at Nicholls State University, where she oversaw academic advisement, student-athlete programming, and holistic support for student-athletes across multiple sports. In that role, she contributed to record-setting graduation success rates, a perfect APR in men’s basketball, and the launch of impactful mental health, career readiness, and community engagement initiatives. She also served as sport administrator for the Colonels' women’s basketball and men’s golf programs.
Prior to Nicholls, Authement spent several years with LSU Athletics, working at the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes, advising teams across multiple sports and developing academic and leadership programs that advanced student-athlete success.
A Louisiana native, she earned degrees from LSU in Sport Administration (B.S.) and Leadership & Human Resource Development (M.S.), and completed her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Nicholls. She is deeply committed to advancing student-athlete success, dedicating her career to cultivating supportive environments, forging impactful partnerships, and shaping experiences that enhance every aspect of the student-athlete journey.
