Donna O'Brien is in her fourth year at the Sun Belt Conference office in 2020-21, joining the staff as Director, Events and Office Coordinator in May 2017, before being promoted to the Executive Director of Administration in February 2021.
In her role, O'Brien manages schedules and itineraries for the Commissioner, as well as assisting the conference’s Chief Financial Officer with accounting and business management. Additionally, she oversees planning and execution for various conference meetings and special events.
Prior to joining the Sun Belt, O'Brien worked as Executive Assistant to the Director of Athletics at Tulane University for 10 years. She managed all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Director of Athletics office, and provided all standard and advanced administrative duties in support of the office. She was responsible for assuring access and communication between the Athletics Administration and the Presidents office, coaches and staff, student-athletes, parents, donors, and the campus community.
O'Brien currently resides in uptown New Orleans.
