Busy slate ahead
Starting Thursday evening a busy slate of volleyball matches are scheduled as competition will be contested each night until Sunday afternoon.

Streaking
Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern and Texas State have each won three consecutive matches while UL Lafayette has strung together two straight wins.

Hurricane Alters Eagles Schedule
Hurricane Matthew altered Georgia Southern’s matches this past weekend as the team had to postpone all athletic events due to the threat of the storm. The Eagles are 3-1 in league play and 10-9 overall.

Texas State Earns Three Honors
After posting a 2-0 weekend with wins over Arkansas State and UT Arlington, the Texas State Bobcats earned three of the four weekly volleyball honors. Kelsey Weynand (Offensive), Erin Hoppe (Setter) and Megan Porter (Freshman) were htis week’s recipients.

Little Rock’s Selimovic Honored
Little Rock’s Edina Elimovic was honored as the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week after finishing the weekend with 14 total blocks at rate of 2.00 per set. Selimovic started the weekend with eight blocks in four sets against UT Arlington as she also put down 10 kills. In the weekend finale at Texas State, Selimovic put up six total blocks (one solo and five assisted) in three sets.

Bobcats Snap Red Wolves’ Win Streak
Texas State defeated Arkansas State, 3-1, over the weekend, ending a 23-match winning streak for the Red Wolves over Sun Belt opponents. A-State was undefeated in 2015 and had not lost a match in league play since 2014.
