Sun Belt Joins Fight Against Ovarian Cancer
September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and beginning this Thursday and continuing through the weekend, Sun Belt Conference women’s soccer programs will wear specially designed warm up jerseys in support of Texas State head coach Kat Conner, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year.

The Sun Belt Conference women’s soccer programs stand in solidarity to spread awareness of the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer to all women. Ovarian cancer is known as the “silent killer” because symptoms mimic almost identically those of IBS, or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Through responsiveness, and spreading the word to others, Conner hopes to educate all women about potential symptoms.

Conference Play Begins
From now until the Oct. 23, Sun Belt women's soccer teams will battle head-to-head for the right to be one of the top eight teams to earn a bid to the 2016 Sun Belt Women's Soccer Championship. This year the championship will be held at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Ala. from Nov. 2-6. The 2016 conference slate opens on Thursday, Sept. 15 with ULM taking on Georgia Southern at 4 p.m. CT in Monroe.

USA Caps Undefeated Week
The South Alabama Jaguars capped an undefeated week as the Jaguars went 3-0 beginning with a Labor Day win over No. 1 Florida State. All three victories were 1-0 victories which included wins over Austin Peay on Friday and Ole Miss on Sunday.

Chants Look for First Conference Win in Sun Belt
Coastal Carolina hopes to make its entrance into the Sun Belt a memorable one as they host Arkansas State on Friday. It will be the first Sun Belt match played by the Chanticleers.

Jags Sweep Weekly Honors
The University of South Alabama soccer program won both the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards from the Sun Belt Conference for the second straight week, and is receiving votes in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll. Junior Ashlynn Jones took home the offensive award and freshman Alexis Jordan earned the defensive honor. Both are receiving the award for the first time in their career.

Additionally, South Alabama picked up nine votes in the national poll after winning three matches in a row and five of their last six.
