Coastal Carolina Men's Soccer Wins 2-0 at College of Charleston
MT. PLEASANT - Coastal Carolina got an early goal from Frantzdy Pierrot and a second-half goal by Martin Melchor to lead the Chanticleers to a 2-0 victory at College of Charleston Wednesday evening at Patriots Point.

, the reigning Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week, recorded three saves on seven Cougar shots to record his third shutout of the season.
The first half was a back-and-forth, tight affair as Coastal tallied five shots to the Cougars' four. Coastal also had two corners to the College's two. However, David Raizes fed Pierrot deep into the box. Pierrot's shot ricocheted off the inside left post to find the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. It was additionally Pierrot's first goal of the season.
Coastal Carolina controlled the second half as it held a 10-3 advantage in shots in the final 45 minutes. Two of the Cougar's three shot came in the first 15 minutes of the second half.
Then, in the 63rd minute, Melchor broke through the CofC defense and beat Cougar keeper Kevin Shields one-one-one to score an unassisted goal, the third of Coastal's 10 second-half shots. Melchor has scored in back-to-back matches and leads the team with three goals this season.
Coastal Carolina will return home to host Old Dominion this Saturday (Oct. 1) at 1 pm. As a reminder, Coastal will also host a home football game this Saturday. Parking lots near the soccer facility will be closed and soccer fans are asked to park in the lot off Highway 544 and utilize the free shuttles to the soccer facility.
