Ty Cockfield II, Arkansas State (Sr., G, Gainesville, Ga.)
Arkansas State senior guard Ty Cockfield II averaged 30.5 points on 47.2 percent shooting (25-of-53) in two games to close out the regular season. Cockfield poured in 26 points in the victory over ULM and dropped 35 points in the overtime loss to Louisiana. His 26 points against the Warhawks tied the game high. He hit the game-tying three-pointer to send the game into overtime against the Ragin’ Cajuns. Adding two more 20-plus point efforts, Cockfield leads the Sun Belt with 20 performances scoring 20 or more points this season. He enters the conference championship tied for the single-season school record for points (695).
