Football Players of the Week (Week 11)

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Levi Lewis, Louisiana
A huge part of Louisiana's offense on Saturday, throwing for 252 yards against South Alabama.  The senior finished the contest 21-for-31 and season-high three touchdown passes, just the fourth time in his career he has thrown three touchdowns in a single game.  Louisiana is now 14-1 when Lewis passes for two or more scores in a game.  With his 252 yards through the air, Lewis passed Terrance Broadway for the most 250+ passing games in the last 20 years with nine.  Lewis currently leads the Sun Belt Conference with 1,880 passing yards, while his 13 touchdowns is tied for second in the league.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
D'Marco Jackson, App State
Inside linebacker D’Marco Jackson was all over the field in App State’s 17-13 win against Georgia State, racking up a career-high 2.0 tackles for loss with nine tackles, a sack, two pass breakups and a quarterback hurry. He also recovered a first-quarter fumble that set up the Mountaineers’ first score of the game. His third-down PBU in the fourth quarter forced a Panther punt that preceded App State’s game-winning touchdown drive. Jackson helped App State hold the Sun Belt’s second-leading offense (36.7 scoring average entering the game) to 13 points and just three in the second half.
 
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jeremiah Haydel, Texas State
Returned four kickoffs for 164 yards and a touchdown at Georgia Southern.  He averaged 41.0 yards per return, which ranks as the second-best game total in the Sun Belt Conference this season.  His first return was for 97 yards and a touchdown to tie the score at 7-7.  It also is the second-longest return in the Sun Belt this season.  His 164 kickoff return yards are the most yards in a game by a Sun Belt player this season.  He became the first FBS player this season to return a punt and a kickoff for a touchdown.
