OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cheyenne Hayes, Troy

Cheyenne Hayes posted 56 kills on .237 hitting in three wins over Georgia State this weekend, including a 23-kill outing in the Friday night contest. The senior flirted with a double-double in all three matches with seven, eight and seven dig outings for a total of 22 digs this weekend. Hayes led all scorers in all three matches this weekend with 15, 23, and 18 kill performances. The Newnan, Ga. native also added three aces and two blocks to her impressive weekend.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Leigh Maher, Little Rock
(Jr, DS - Metairie, La., 20)
Maher was a dominant defensive force for Little Rock with 72 digs including a career-high 36 digs in the series opener vs Louisiana. The junior transfer from LSU served up two aces, registered 12 assists and even recorded a kill against the Ragin' Cajuns.
SETTER OF THE WEEK
Amara Anderson, Troy
(Jr, S - Alpharetta, Ga., 6)
Anderson totaled 137 assists, and just one error, in 10 sets this weekend against Georgia State, good for a whopping 13.7 average. Anderson popped off for a 58-assist match in the Friday night contest, the most in school history in a four-set match. In the Friday morning contest, a sweep over the Panthers, Anderson registered 35 assists and 11 digs, her first double-double of the season. In the series finale on Saturday, Anderson posted 44 assists and no errors in three sets, a 14.67 average. The Alpharetta, Ga. native also recorded six kills on 22 attempts (.273), two aces, and 25 digs this weekend. The junior assisted on 88 percent of the Trojans' kills this weekend.
FRESHMAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taylor Gates, Louisiana
(Fr, RS - Kansas City, Mo., 18)
For the second consecutive weekend, Gates increased her offensive production from the previous week totaling 20 kills in a single weekend for the first time in her collegiate career. Gates scored exactly 20 kills (2.86 per set) on a .250 hitting percentage as Louisiana posted a three-match sweep of Little Rock on Sun Belt-opening weekend and kept its undefeated start to the 2020 season intact. The production came in only two matches of extensive action, starting with a new season high total of 10 kills off 21 swings in the nightcap on Friday and it was followed by nine kills in the series finale. Gates registered three aces, had a pair of four-dig efforts and had a hand in at least one block throughout the series. Gates helped set the tone for Louisiana's sweep in the series finale, landing eight kills off of 12 error-free swings combined over the first two sets as the Ragin' Cajuns laid claim to a commanding 2-0 match advantage.
