OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Caitlan Buettner, Texas State
Sophomore outside hitter Caitlan Buettner opened the 2020 season on a high note as she led Texas State with 4.88 kills per set (39 total) and hit .345 in a 2-0 weekend. She also added two aces. In the five-set victory over Central Arkansas, Buettner recorded her first collegiate double-double with 27 kills behind a .377 hitting percentage, and 17 digs, all of which are career-highs. In fact, Buettner's 27 kills are the most of any Texas State student-athlete since joining the Sun Belt Conference. The El Paso, Texas native concluded the weekend with 12 kills and two aces in the sweep over Stephen F. Austin.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hannah Ramirez, Louisiana.
Hannah Ramirez rounded up 40 digs at an average of 5.71 digs per set - the highest figures in both categories among all Sun Belt players who competed on Opening Weekend - in leading the defensive efforts of Louisiana's sweep of Houston Baptist. Her efforts helped the Ragin' Cajuns as a team average 20.7 digs per set for the weekend. Ramirez collected at least six digs in each set of Friday's straight sets sweep, finishing with 21 for a rate of 7.0 digs per set. On Saturday, Ramirez was one dig shy of a second consecutive 20-dig effort.

SETTER OF THE WEEK
Emily DeWalt, Texas State
Junior setter and reigning 2018-19 Sun Belt Conference Setter of the Week Emily DeWalt turned in 10.75 assists per set (86 total) and had 18 digs, nine kills, one ace and one block in the 2-0 weekend for Texas State. DeWalt logged a new career-high with 57 assists in the five-set victory over Central Arkansas. In that match, she also had nine digs, five kills and one ace. DeWalt concludes the weekend with 29 assists, nine digs, four kills in eight attempts with one error (.375), and one block in the 3-0 win at Stephen F. Austin.
