Texas State upsets George State 77-74 in 2OT
ATLANTA (AP) Emani Gant scored 11 of his 17 points in two overtime periods as Texas State upset Georgia State77-74 on Monday night.
Gant nailed a 3-point jumper as time expired in the first overtime to tie the game at 69. He made two straight jump shots in the second extra period and Kavin Gilder-Tilbury sank three free throws as the Bobcats ended Georgia State's 18-game home court winning streak.
The Panthers, picked to win the Sun Belt Conference, held a 55-51 lead with 1:17 left in regulation. Ethan Montalvo and D.J. Brown nailed consecutive treys for the lead with 17 seconds remaining. Ryan Harrow drove for a layup to tie at 57 and send it to overtime.
Cameron Naylor had a career-high 18 points, Brown added 12 and Gilder-Tilbury and Montalvo had 11 apiece for Texas State (8-4, 2-1 Sun Belt).
Harrow had 29 points for Georgia State (9-5, 2-1).

Troy gets past UT Arlington in 71-66 win
TROY, Ala. (AP) Wesley Person Jr. scored a career-high 31 points and ignited the game-winning comeback run to lift Troy to a 71-66 victory over UT Arlington on Monday night.
Trailing by four with 3:21 left in the game, Troy (6-6, 1-2 Sun Belt) got a 3-pointer from Person that cut the margin to 66-65 and sparked a 9-0 run to the buzzer. The burst was capped with dunks from Kevin Thomas and Chris Bilbo, who finished with 17 points.
The Trojans shot 53 percent from the floor, including 8 of 16 from 3-point range to snap a two-game skid and avenge last season's loss to UT Arlington (8-5, 2-1).
In a close game where neither team led by double figures, UT Arlington took a 36-34 advantage into halftime but didn't score in the final three minutes of the game.
Johnny Hill led the Mavericks with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Jamel Outler had 10 points.

South Alabama beats UALR 72-69
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) Georgi Boyanov had 16 points and 13 rebounds and Dionte Ferguson scored 25 - all career highs - as South Alabama beat UALR 72-69 on Monday night.
Taishaun Johnson made 1 of 2 free throws to give South Alabama a 66-62 lead with 1:57 left and Ferguson scored six points down the stretch to keep the Jaguars in front.
South Alabama (3-10, 1-2 Sun Belt Conference) took the lead for good on one of Ferguson's jumpers during a 7-0 run that ended with the Jaguars up 57-52 with 8:19 left.
UALR (5-8, 0-3) stayed within five the rest of the way, closing to 70-69 with 3.8 seconds left when Josh Hagins hit 3 of 3 free throws. After Ferguson made both of his free throws with 2.5 seconds left, Hagins missed a half-court heave at the buzzer.
Roger Woods led the Trojans with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Ben Dillard scored 13 and Hagins had 10.

UL Lafayette runs past Appalachian State 80-64
BOONE, N.C. (AP) Brian Williams and Bryce Washington combined for 29 points to lead UL Lafayette to an 80-64 Sun Belt Conference victory over Appalachian State on Monday night.
The victory gave UL Lafayette coach Bob Martin his 300th career win at the Division I level.
Williams made 6 of 8 field goal attempts for 15 points. Washington, who was 5 of 6 from the floor in the first half, finished with 14 points, Kasey Shepherd added 13 and Shawn Long and Devonta Walker had 10 apiece for the Ragin' Cajuns (9-5, 3-0 Sun Belt).
UL Lafayette led 38-24 at the break. Walker started the second half with a layup and followed with a three-point play that started an 18-6 run that led to a 62-42 advantage with 10:48 remaining. The Mountaineers (4-7, 1-1) never threatened.
Michael Obacha had 12 points, Tommy Spangnolo added 11 and Landon Goesling had a career-high 10 for the Mountaineers.

UL Monroe beats Arkansas State 70-61
MONROE, La. (AP) Marvin Williams made 9 of 12 shots and finished with a career-high 22 points to lead UL Monroe past Arkansas State 70-61 on Monday night.
Williams made the first basket of the game on his way to 10 first-half points as UL Monroe held a 30-24 advantage.
Tylor Ongwae, Majok Deng and Justin Roberson had 10 points apiece for UL Monroe (7-6, 1-1 Sun Belt). The Warhawks made 29 of 53 shots (54.7 percent).
Six straight points by Ongwae gave UL Monroe a 13-point lead, its largest of the night, with 3:03 left.
Cameron Golden made four 3-pointers on his way to 25 points for Arkansas State (6-6, 1-2). P.J. Hardwick had 15 and Anthony Livingston added 10 for the Red Wolves.
Three of Golden's 3-pointers came in the final six minutes of the game - for Arkansas State's only field goals during that span.
